Jay Van Groningen (Association President and Eastern Regional Officer)
I work as team leader for North America Ministries for CRWRC. I convene and support multipliers of Christian Community Development work around the United States. Why? God reigns, let the earth and everything in it be glad! I am captured by the idea of Christians transforming their communities and Churches living out the values of the kingdom where they live and worship. Christians “get to” establish in this life, the signs of the life to come! How awesome is that?

Rudy Gonzalez
I work for a denominational relief and development organization. I provide urban leaders consultation, training and collaborative opportunities to help them build leadership networks for community transformation efforts.
In areas where a leadership network is established the relationship is more of a collaborative partnership with the network leader. In new areas, I provide support and coaching to grass roots leaders, and convene them on a quarterly basis for mutual learning.

George Montoya (Treasurer and Northwest Regional Officer)
I work in the Northwest Region and seek to empower individuals, church leaders and groups by providing skills and knowledge to effect change in their own communities. These skills are often concentrated around building personal and political power through the formation of groups working for a common agenda.
We discover and organize local resources building personal, spiritual, economic and political leverage in a community to meet their needs. Most often, the resources within the community are more than adequate to meet their needs if individuals work collectively towards positive community change and a common vision.

Jin John Choi
I work as a Church-Community Coordinator among Korean congregations.
Right now, I am equipping myself with new tools and ideas about Asset Based Community Development. I have been praying for a special missionary life for a long time, almost 30 years. And some weeks ago, I just got a sudden answer to my prayer through this wonderful chance to work with CRWRC. Still I am not quite sure yet whether I am qualified for this position or not. But I will just try to do my best, because I am sure this is what Our Lord wants me to do, and I am sure that my trying to do my best for this job will please Our Lord.

Paul Green
I work as the executive director for Hope for the Inner City in Tennessee. I ensure that Hope for the Inner City is meeting neighborhood needs and being managed in a responsible fashion.
We work to promote revitalization and organization in the local communities. This is accomplished through working with various organizations, agencies, and individuals using Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) as a framework. The hope is that neighbors come together in the common purpose of reclaiming their neighborhood and their lives through the realization that the gifts and skills needed for change are already present in their communities. We have hope that this can happen by the grace of God.

We are congregational coaches for Volunteers In Service (VIS), a non-profit organization equipping West Michigan churches and other non-profits for increased capacity in community transformation. Believing that the resources necessary to improve community life for all are, by God's grace, already present, we employ discovery tools within congregations, organizations and the community to identify and connect them - for the transformational benefit of all participants. Along the way, we encourage and coach, and provide support for leadership development and project management.

Monika Grasley
As director of LifeLine Community Development Corporation of Merced County and Intermediary for the CRWRC I work with a number of neighborhoods and community projects to implement Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD). Merced is a welfare county and many people are accustomed to receive handouts instead of hand-ups. Through ABCD churches, faith-based organizations, government agencies and non profits work together to help our communities find the gifts and passion that God has given them and encourage and equip them to act. I regularly train, equip and encourage pastors and community leaders to implement ABCD in their action today and their planning for the future.

Jose Rayas
I am a church planter and community developer in East El Paso County. As a church planter, our vision is to “Build Christian Community through the transformation of believers and non believers.
Part of our work in community development entails guiding the community to discover their own extraordinary gifts, skills, abilities and capacities, and to put them to work making life better for everyone. Another part of the work in Church planting entails working with the community to be reconciled first to God and then to family and neighbors, with a vision of the Kingdom coming (on earth as it is in heaven).
I work as a multiplier growing the work of Community Development in the El Paso region. Two of our children have special needs and are part of a Disability Support Group that tends to the needs of the parents as well as the needs of special children.
